The Rock is Back Again!
The news came as a shock, but the legendary actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is coming back to join the Fast & Furious franchise! After his surprise cameo at the end of Fast X, fans had been wondering when he would return and, finally, they have an answer.
Johnson’s Return
Including his role in 2019’s spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson played Luke Hobbs in four films from 2011-2017. Now he will be back for more action along with Vin Diesel who produces and stars in the film series. As Johnson stated on Twitter: “Last summer Vein and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and fix—and always take care of the franchise, characters & fans we love.”
Ending Beef Between Stars
It seems like this reconciliation comes after years of the rumored feud between Johnson and Diesel on set. It all started back in 2016 when Johnson made an Instagram post calling some male co-stars “candy asses.” At that time he said: “My male co-stars however are a different story. Some act like leaders, while others are just… candy asses.
“He also warned fans that when watching The Fate of the Furious movie next April “[it] might seem like [he’s] not acting in some of these scenes” because his blood was boiling so much – which clearly turned out to be true before they ended their beef last Summer.
The Rock: Man of His Word
They called him the “Lone Wolf” – The Rock, the one-man-machine gun that ran through Tokyo Drift and took down a tank in Fast Five. But after dealing with a tumultuous feud with co-star Vin Diesel, The Rock was adamant about not returning to the franchise. It soon emerged his words were aimed at Diesel. The two had been taking shots at each other in interviews for years.
A New Era for “Fast & Furious” Movies?
Now comes the question – how will this new installment compare to its predecessors? We won’t know till this mystery title hits cinemas but until then – expect plenty of hype around it leading up to its release date (which has yet to be announced). With both past alumni as well as new characters set up for an explosive ride; let’s just hope everything holds together without any more drama or feuding between actors on set!
