Seasons are a new sensation among the youth, especially when it’s about teens and their struggles. So, we’re about to discuss a similar season in this blog of Euphoria Season 2 Review!
Euphoria Season 2 Review
Euphoria Season 2 is an American television drama series that aired on HBO in 2022. Sam Levinson created the show, and he also executive produces and writes for it. Euphoria follows a group of teenagers as they struggle with their mental health, sexuality, and identity. The characters in Euphoria are incredibly complex and interesting, and the aesthetic and acting are phenomenal. The show has been praised for its honest portrayal of teenagers struggling with real-life issues.
The Euphoria’s Speculating Cast
The cast of Euphoria is expected to return for the second season, including Zendaya as Rue Bennett, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs, Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez, and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard. Series creator Sam Levinson has said that the second season will be “bigger and louder” than the first, with more focus on the characters’ emotional journeys.
Season 2 of Euphoria
It’s no secret that the first season of HBO’s Euphoria was a massive success. The show was praised for its unflinching look at addiction, mental illness, and teenage angst. So, when it was announced that the show would be returning for a second season, fans were understandably excited. However, now that the second season has aired, it seems that not everyone is as enamored with it as they were with the first. Many are saying that the new season is a major step down from the first.
Worth Watching or Not?
The main problem seems to be that the second season consists of several unrelated storylines, which are ultimately stitched together to create an exciting conclusion. While this may work for some shows, it doesn’t quite work for Euphoria. The show simply lacks a strong overarching idea to tie everything together. The second season is consequently less engaging than the first.
That being said, there’s no denying that Euphoria is still an unquestionably successful show. Zendaya once again gives an amazing performance as Rue Bennett, and there are some truly standout moments throughout the season. However, given all the hype surrounding this new season, it’s safe to say that a lot of viewers will be disappointed.
Into the Show!
The first eight episodes are spent setting up a complicated love triangle involving new boy Elliot and Jules, as well as a second love triangle between Nate and Cassie. There’s also an affair behind Maddy’s back, which ends in an OFF-SCREEN altercation between two females over the entire season. This entire plotline is dragged out needlessly and could have been resolved in a single episode.
Ending Note
Euphoria Season 2 is one of the biggest failures of 2022. We adore this show, but the second season utterly loses its way. This is an experience that leaves a depressing sense of indifference rather than euphoria.
However, some have praised the show’s visual style and performances, saying that it remains engaging despite its flaws.
