The latest technology has made it super simple and convenient to communicate with people. However, at the same time, it has also allowed many ways to stop communication with a click or push of a button. When someone blocks your number, you do not receive a notification of the action.
Some signs can help you know if someone has blocked your phone number:
Strange Messages while Calling
Usually, people wouldn’t want to show they have blocked you. There is no standard message you receive upon getting blocked. If you receive an unusual text, means they have used their wireless carrier to block you. The message can differ from one carrier to another.
The person you are calling is not accepting calls right now/ out of service/unavailable. If you continue calling for a day or two and get these messages every time, it means that you have been blocked.
The Number of Phone Rings
If your call rings once or doesn’t ring at all after getting directed to voicemail, it means that you are blocked. The phone rings multiple times with regular calls so the other person can pick up. In this scenario, the person has activated the blocking feature on the phone. If you keep calling once every day for a couple of days and nothing changes, it means that you are blocked.
However, if the person you are trying to reach has turned on the Do Not Disturb feature, their calls, from you or anybody else, go to voicemail. You will get the same result if their battery is dead or the phone is switched off. Wait for a few days to check and know for sure if your number has been blocked.
Busy Signal then Disconnect
When you call someone and their line is busy or get a fast busy signal before getting the call dropped, it’s another sign that you are blocked and they have used their wireless carrier to do so. If the result is the same for a couple of days, it means you are blocked. Among the different hints to help you know that you have been blocked, this is a rare one. However, some carriers use it still.
However, there can be some exceptional cases. For example, your or their carrier might be suffering from technical issues. To confirm, you can try calling someone who uses the same carrier as the person you have tried to call and see if the call gets through.
Another thing that you can do is send an SMS to the number. For instance, if you both used iMessage on your iPhone and you are curious all of a sudden if they have blocked you, check by sending them a text message. Check if the iMessage interface remains unchanged and the messages deliver. If you are unable to do so, and it goes out as a regular text, it means they have blocked you.
