The continuity of the MCU was always intended to be integrated into Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Here’s how to watch the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Series in sync with the Marvel movie releases.
Since March 16, Disney+ has served as the official home of the venerable Marvel television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. That implies that there’s a brand-new justification for starting yet another marathon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The only remaining query is how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fits into the larger MCU storyline.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Cast
Starring Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge, Clark Gregg plays Phil Coulson in the TV show, reprising his character from the film series. Later episodes welcomed Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Jeff Ward, Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, Henry Simmons, Luke Mitchell, John Hannah, and Nick Blood. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents deal with a wide range of peculiar cases and adversaries, involving Hydra, Inhumans, Life Model Bait, extraterrestrial races like the Kree and Chronicoms, and time travel.
Premises
Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. is followed in the first season as he assembles a small group of agents to take on novel cases. They look into Project Centipede and its leader, “The Clairvoyant,” and find out that Hydra, a terrorist organization that has penetrated S.H.I.E.L.D., is funding the organization. After S.H.I.E.L.D. is destroyed in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Coulson takes over as supervisor of the agency in the second season and is given the task of restoring it while battling Hydra, a group of pro-S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and a recently discovered superhuman race known as the Inhumans.
In the third season, while Hydra reinstates its long-gone Inhuman ruler Hive to power, Coulson launches a covert expedition to gather the Secret Warriors, a group of Inhumans. With the signing of the Sokovia Treaties and agreements, S.H.I.E.L.D. is reinstated as a legal organization following the destruction of Hive and Hydra. Coulson comes back to his role as a field agent in the fourth season so that S.H.I.E.L.D. has a visible leader. He is also tasked with finding more improved individuals, including Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider. In addition, Agent Leo Fitz and Holden Radcliffe finish their tasks on the virtual world projects Life Model Decoy and Framework.
