There is lots to see and do in the areas surrounding Cancun and the Riviera Maya. For those wishing to get out of the resort and try something new, Xcaret Park is the right place to be! Despite its diversity, Xcaret Park has long been the most popular destination in the region.
What is the Xcaret Park?
Xcaret is a combination of a water park, amusement park, theme park, an archaeological site, and so much more. At the park’s outstanding setting, there is so much you can do to enjoy to the fullest. The park has an advantaged location in the Mayan jungle among underground rivers, cenotes, and facing the Caribbean Sea.
It’s a massive eco-park with a wide range of activities, shows, and exhibits that highlight Mexico’s history, culture, and natural beauty. Animals, physical activities in a natural setting, and a variety of exhibits and live entertainment are all featured here.
List of Activities You Can Do In the Park
Unless you have planned your day, you will be overwhelmed with the things that can be done at the Xcaret Park. For your ease, we have listed down some must-do activities to make the most of your time:
Snorkelling In the Underground River
Swimming in one of the three “subterranean” rivers is a must-have. They’re called underground rivers, although they’re just tubes that run deep underground. Each one winds its way through the park, taking you on an incredible adventure. The water is incredibly clean, and you’ll have a fantastic view of the park.
Visit The Park’s Animals
In the park, you can see a variety of species of animals. These include raccoons, sea turtles, dolphins, monkeys, butterflies, pumas, bees, bats, and more. The animals are displayed in a natural setting and this adds to the enjoyment of your visit. There is also a butterfly enclosure that allows visitors to wander through a big-screened area filled with free-flying butterflies.
Explore the Aviary
The Aviary, which opened to the public in 2015, is a pleasant surprise at Xcaret. The habitats are magnificently designed, and the 1500 birds will transport you to an Eden. Hummingbirds, regal eagles, macaws, jungles, forests, marshes, and mangles are just a few of the birds to name. Even if you aren’t particularly fond of aviaries, you will appreciate this one.
Witness the Mexico Espectacular
Before you leave, Make sure you attend the grand finale entertainment in the large event pavilion at the end of the day.
